1. Level Best Cafe
Level Best Cafe is a social enterprise started by the Dacon Trust, which intends to create training opportunities for adults and young people with learning disabilities.
The Level Best cafe offers fresh food in a cafe based on St Johns Street, Colchester. It has a lively bright and light atmosphere which is enough to put anyone in a good mood, ideal for British Sandwich Week 2024!
They offer training for those with learning disabilities in gardening, catering, and art activities and even have their own gallery at the back of the cafe showcasing the best art of their own and of local artists who can hire the space, so you can check out some amazing artwork with your coffee in hand.
If you want to support your local community and those with learning disabilities, whilst eating some great freshly made, reasonably priced food, or even just check out the gallery, this could be the place for you.
2. Sip and Tuck
Sip and Tuck is a cosy independent family-run cafe serving food from breakfast right through to supper. Located in Colchester City Centre, Sip and Tuck have an inviting atmosphere in a unique listed building with a homely fireplace too.
It’s also family-friendly with separate menus for children and offers high chairs and booster seats, so your children can feel well accommodated.
3. Dice and Slice
Dice and Slice Colchester is a great place to grab a sandwich and a coffee if you also like to play games while you eat. Calling itself, ‘the home of fantastic boardgames’, they have a library of over 800 games that you can choose to play for a small additional fee.
The games are designed to suit all ages and skill levels, with great recommendations available from the staff.
Located in the heart of Colchester, they have a great sunny courtyard too for those who would prefer to sit outside on British Sandwich Week 2024.
4. Hog Cafe
With two locations across Colchester, one in Prettygate and one in William Harris Way, Hog Cafe has ten sandwich options you can add cheese for an extra 50p.
Hog Cafe is big on family time and prides itself on offering high-quality food for adults and children with separate menus for them too. The William Harris Way venue even has a small play area to keep the kiddies entertained.
