Our Story – Fresh Food & Local Roots
Bon Appetit was founded by best friends Susi and Kelly, who’ve shared a love of food and good company for more than 30 years. Back in 2019, they decided it was time to open a sandwich shop in Colchester that offered more than just a quick lunch. They wanted a place where everyone feels welcome — and where your lunch is made exactly how you like it.
Susi swapped office work for kitchen creativity. Kelly brought her years of catering experience to the table. Together, they turned a simple idea into a much-loved local sandwich shop that’s known for fresh ingredients, flexible menus, and friendly service.

Susi is the first person you’ll see when you walk in. She loves catching up with regulars, testing out new vegan lunch specials, and Kelly is especially famous for her hearty daily specials, like the mutton curry served on the last Friday of every month, a real Colchester favourite.
Both Susi & Kelly makes sure every buffet catering order, big sandwich platter, or custom salad box is just right.
